Laurel Pines is filled with a deep history. This history is brought to life with the dedication and effort of the people who gave their time, skills, and dreams dating back to the Spring of 1963.
The beautiful land of the Angelus Oaks Mountains is where a group of men and women embarked on their journey with a shared goal of beginning a youth camp. For a year they worked to reach a goal and acquire funds to obtain this land and begin the fundamentals of a beautiful campground. With generous donations from those believing the importance of impacting young lives, Laurel Pines grew to be as beautiful as the evergreen trees that surround it.
The summer of 1967 brought the first wave of change to Laurel Pines, taming the breathtaking wilderness while accommodating guests. Summer camps, Youth groups, family vacations and so much more brought the campground of Laurel Pines to life.
The year of 2015 has continued to plant the seed of many new opportunities and growth throughout Laurel Pines. The beauty and majesty of such a place needed to reach new heights and showcase the grandeur of its nature. Renovations of the lower campground were in place allowing the opportunity to share this land with those beginning their life journey through marriage at our new wedding venue called Bristlecone.
